Welcome to 'The PsychGeist': an introduction

Hello, and welcome to ‘The PsychGeist’. This blog is about the intersection between pop culture and therapy, and what we can learn from where the two meet.

From my figurative and literal armchair, I write about different aspects of art and culture – for example, books, film and TV, video games, music and sport - through a therapist’s eyes (spoiler alert - I am that therapist). I hope to show that conversations in the therapy room aren’t so different to those we encounter in the things we like to watch, read, play and listen to.

So, fingers crossed we can find some fun things to ‘talk curious’ about, and that we can all be happy I resisted the urge to name this ‘Therapy, She Wrote’: my tribute to Angela Lansbury’s TV detective Jessica Fletcher will have to wait another day…
